Thinking about over-indulging this vacation? How about making it simpler? It’s about in-joying the moment, and one treat feels very different than three.
Heading into it with a strict or indulgent mentality might just lead to pressure and over-thinking it all. The mentality of in-joying every moment as much as possible is enough.
This summer I’m appreciating my time to make my Fluffy Banana Pancakes with Chocolate Mousse recipe.
We need to remember one very important thing:
One piece of decadent chocolate cake = ahhhmazing delishiousness.
Two pieces of chocolate cake, followed by a gelato or two, followed by oversized restaurant meals, followed by a few drinks = feeling gross.
And who wants to feel terrible on vacation? So when you’re sipping away on that pina colada or fine wine or licking that creamy gelato – just savour the moment in-joy, and leave it there when it’s done.
An indulgence or treat is something to enjoy for no reason whatsoever, and food is not exactly a reward; it’s full of hidden meanings.
Two gelatos are two separate experiences; the first a fresh delight, the second – maybe pleasurable to start but with an end of feeling too much… and then possibly a stomachache or sugar-filled headache or sleepy crash.
Every serving brings about different emotions. “One gelato = yum. Two gelatos = I feel like a bum”.
Each reacts to your body differently. So focus on the good feeling, and savour the moment. Focus on in-joying what you have while you’re having it, and you’ll possibly be fully satisfied from even just those first few licks.
More does not always = better, is the moral of the story.
Appreciate the moment and trust it’s enough.
